Re: My Flies

Bob, I have 5 or 6 of your flies that you sent me in 2020 and still use them to copy your patterns. I just went through a few of the Lee Wulff Chapter Newsletters and was impressed. Having served on a TU State Council for over 15 years, I've seen a few newsletters and yours are way up there. I hope ...

Re: Golden Brown

Mike, I have a mask very close to what Wayne has... and a few others with shades of red brookie stuff.
They were liquid sauces but my wife is done with me cooking on the stove.
Take those snowshoes you have up there... and urine from a bull.
It will stank like kidney stew but oh-so-good.

Re: Frank Sawyer's Nymphs

No Ray, its the fluff at the bottom of any Dun, Brown, or natural Brahma hackle. Rooster or hen. I apply it in a split thread. Wow, zero waste! I like that! Dale Yes, It's the filoplume from the base of a feather. Their insulation and our super soft when you want lots of life in your pattern. Work ...

Re: Flymph - Light Fox / Hare’s Cheek

It is good to see another tyer that is not afraid to use "over-sized" hackle. When you use all the sweet spots on a cape, things can get crazy but those long sweepy fibers entice takes. I'm with DUBBN and look at those Scotch style patterns Theroe ties. Milk every feather from the skin. I...

I strive for that buggy look when I know I'll be fishing riffles and pocket water.
That will have a lot of movement...I like it!

Re: Glitzy Rabbit Flymph

That is outstanding!
Not that I need any more yarn but... where did you find that? Is Glitzy a brand name?
I have some metallic yarns but they are a little course for smaller patterns.

You're on a roll... 8-)

Dana, I had to go look and yes, your contribution to a March Brown swap in February 2020 was
a scotch style pattern. And to stay on topic, Sanders' MB soft hackle was in that swap too!
I believe it was ronr who posted a picture of a shadowbox from that swap?
