Being a native Virginian, I call them possums.

My preference for spring creeks has resulted in a pretty good collection of English chalk stream authors.
Where the Bright Waters Meet by Harry Plunket Greene is another that should not be missed, as well as anything by CF Walker.

It was a different world pre-winter Olympics, for sure. SLC was a small town, in feeling when we lived there, while now, it is just another city. I worked in the VA hospital while at the Univ, and as soon as all the breakfast cleanup was completed, all those nice LDS ladies would grab a cup of coffe...

There was nothing like that when I was at the Univ of Utah in SLC (1966-67). 3.2 in the grocery store, but you had to go to the state liquor for anything else.
