Re: Green Damsel
For years I encountered this damsel fly on streams in the Midwest during the summer. It is an Ebony Jewel Wing. At times they would be thick. I swing a Sheep Creek Special when i see dragon flies around so i put one on and the fish took it. That got the creative juices going and i first tied and fis...

Re: Woven Nymph
Check out troutpredator.com, there is a weaving video showing an Aaron Jasper technique. He uses two bobbins that make weaving much easier. Not sure that woven flies make any difference but they look great.

Re: Head Cement; I need a New Source
Cellire is varnish and here is the gold standard of varnish.
If you use varnish throughout the tying process flies become bomb proof. This includes swiping your tying thread with varnish before applying dubbing. It is the easiest way to dub seal's fur.

Re: Peccary and Hare's Ear Nymph
Came from my vise. I'd love to see one tied by Troth. I lost out on an Elk Hair Caddis and his Pheasant Tail version at a TU auction a few years ago that were tied by him. It would be great to own one of those tied by the originator.

Re: Peccary and Hare's Ear Nymph
A much more somber fly using peccary. An old Al Troth pattern he called Brown Mayfly Nymph. Dyed brown peccary for the body, brown bear or peccary tips for the tail, brown dubbing and dark brown hackle.

Re: Protected Bird Species
Can you imagine how many fly tyers would be jailed for owning any one of these species?
