Re: Leaders

I've been using furled leaders for a couple of years now on my single hand rods. I make them out of mono thread and Uni 6/0 thread. I have one mono leader that I've been using for three years with no sign of wear. I use tippet rings to attach tippet to the furled leaders. No hinging effect and great...

I've been admiring your produce bag flies, Hans. I'm ashamed to admit that all the bags I've seen locally are the welded type that are useless for fly dressing. Guess we're just gonna have to move to a classier area.

Re: 20" brown on a BWO soft hackle today .

Thanks, Pat. Our most reliable hatch is BWO's, almost every overcast day (in the PNW we have a lot of overcast days), the hatch starts about noon or 1:00 PM. None of that early morning stuff for us. Nice relaxed breakfast and a pleasant drive to the river.

Re: hooks I like

I got a nice assortment of Grip 14723BL's from Great Feathers, http://greatfeathers.com/ , and picked up the TMC version (TMC 206BL) at Sportsman's Warehouse, but the sizes of the TMC hooks are limited locally.

Nice pics, Pat. Yup, cool, slightly over cast, little or no wind, that day has BWO written all over it.

I keep clicking on this fly thinking "Damn! That looks good." Very nicely dressed.
