Re: Shuck's Bead Caddis Larva
I am pleased and flattered, Ron, that your taste in flies is similar to mine. Your version of the Bead Head Caddis Larva is very nice indeed.

Re: POP Flies (Tutorial / SBS)
A great description of how to tie what I consider to be the best "new" fly design that I know of.
Personally, I use Alec Jackson Japanese Silk on the body, but any pure silk flattened sufficiently will produce the same effect. These flies catch fish!

Re: Sunshine and the Dry Fly
The following synopsis taken from a 1924 issue of the journal "Nature" may be of interest regarding the premise of Dunne's book Sunshine and the Dry Fly ... MR. DUNNE'S book will be read with great interest by the devotees of dry-fly fishing, if only for its unortho-doxy, amounting almost ...

Somewhere on this forum there is an excellent SBS by Letumgo Ray on his design of such an adapter. Also brilliant like the above.

Brilliant! You could sell these. I’d certainly buy a set. I agree ... superbly conceived and executed. Congratulations! As for buying some, it would depend on the cost. Anything over $10 and I'll just get more of the Wasatch "Mini" bobbin holders, of which I already have three ;) :l...

Re: Blue Winged Olive
My old friend and fishing buddy Jack told me about how the trout in the Green River refused to rise to hatching flies during the day out of fear of the birds. As soon as the cormorants and ospreys and pelicans and eagles quit flying for the day, the water would come alive with feeding fish.

Re: Shuck wax and pre-dubbed bodies
The English company Veniards used to market these waxes. I have a cake of their 7-2-2 that I got at Great Feathers a few years ago. It is a very nice winter wax, however it no longer appears on their website.

Re: Blue Winged Olive
Looking really good! Definitely an underappreciated hackle source. I have used wood duck covert (see below), but will now take a serious look at the mallard as well.
