Here is my latest variation of the Thompson's Delectable Chironomid. It has been a a staple in my fly boxes since 1986 when I saw the pattern in Flies of the NORTHWEST by the Inland Empire Fly Fishing Club in Spokane, Washington.

A chironomid on a size 10 2xl is huge
No wonder why some of your lake fish get so big.

Huge, no it is just a growing teenager.
