What head cement did you use? I am interested because you mentioned using a Sharpie marker to color your thread.

Ray, LOON CLEAR FINISH, Flow.
I have been on a bead and hot spot kick as of late.
I doubt the Orange head makes a difference, but I like it.
Yesterday the river cleared, and the soft hackle and stone nymph bite never appeared. It was back to size 22 baetis nymphs and size 18 Kryptonite caddis. Its tough landing fish in high water with tiny flies.
Today I am tying Yellow Spiders with Red heads. I used them alot last year. It was my best producer of soft hackles. The red head is like chicken soup and the flu. It doesn't cure anything, but it makes me feel better.
