Whoa! That’s such a handsome pattern. You can fish it untreated (wet/damp emerger) or treated (dry).

I’m looking forward to seeing your reports on field trials. I’m confident it will be very effective. ;)

Wayne,
Ray's right! Yours is an impressive looking pattern! There are a bunch of versions and/or interpretations out there of this noble fly and yours is destined to become a classic! What is your inspiration for the unique look of this pattern? Abdomen and thorax especially! Very good looking work in the Dubbn style we all know and love!

Hook - WFC, Wet Nymph, size 16
Thread/abdomen - Veevus BO9, 14/0 (pheasant tail color)
Tail - CDL
Rib - Pheasant Tail colored Micro Tubing
Thorax - Tan Ostrich Herl
Hackle - Brown Partridge

When the time comes, I am sure this pattern will be more than adequate on the swing. I doubt it will do any better than a Partridge Hares Ear. That being said I wanted to try the PT colored Micro Tubing on a soft hackle . This is what I came up with. I tyed a half dozen.
