P W Nymph (Pat's Weighted Nymph - Pat Barnes)

Hook - Mustad S80-3906/S82-3906B
Weight - Lead wire on shank
Thread - Black
Tail - Mallard flank fibers
Ribbing – Peacock herl
Body - Yellow floss
Thorax - Peacock herl
Wing case - Mallard flank fibers
Hackle - Tips from mallard flank feather

This nymph was created by Pat Barnes back in the 1950s

Norm, even your nymphs are works of art. That appears to be as close to perfectly tied as possible.

hackle fibers for the legs are tied in forward of the eye and then pulled back on each side of the fly

Norm,

Are the hackle fibers for the legs the same fibers you used for the wing case (pulled forward for the wing case and then folded back and tied down for the legs), or did you actually use different fibers for the legs from those fibers used for the wing case?

sorry for the late reply. i'm not on here much

the legs are the tips of the feather used for the wing case
