I find it fascinating that our members love so many different styles of flies, and yet are each drawn to soft hackles/wingless wets/etc. Your passion for fly fishing and fly tying comes thru with every post. It is one of the things I always admired about this site (and it’s members).

These are two of my favorite trout spey flies. They produced well for me this fall and early winter.

Holy Cow!! Those are gorgeous! Great colors. No wonder they fished well.

They are rump feathers from ringneck pheasant. One is natural and the other dyed.

Alan, one of my favorite hackle for the long, wispy look. Have you tried Coot flank feathers? Very Heron looking, though not quite as full.
