Hello,
Does anyone know where to get the ripple foam found in fly boxes? I am making some light weight flyboxes and need this for my dry flys. Thank you.

Re: Ripple Foam
They make a pass that's about 12"x14" (its been years since I've seen out so its hard to remember) with a self adhesive back made for boats. Its just the same ripple foam. I saw some in Yellow Beeches fly shop come to think of it. Google those guys and give a call. I'd be surprised if you didn't find it searching the auction. Good luck.

I don't know what size you want Tim but I like the Wheatley inserts. They aren't too much money and I think the foam is much more durable. They are adhesive backed and run about $4. There are a lot of different types and sizes to choose from.
Bob Marriots has a good selection.

I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

Re: Ripple Foam
Thanks OH, I buy some plastic boxes at Michaels because they are light and cheap then glue in some foam. The foam I used I didn't like so I started looking for the ripple foam. These boxes are non-standard fly boxes so I cut the foam to shape etc. They work fine for me plus they are light, I found my aluminum boxes heavy after being on the water all day which prompted my creativity...lol. They cost me about $3 per box finished as opposed to $10-$15.
