dubbingblock

In Grantsville Doug gave me (tnxs Doug) a whole box of goodies and with it came a nice piece of wood to make a dubbingblock from it! I use mine mostly to make dubbingbrushes with copperwire thread in it, but I thought could it be possible to to make a double use of it: a normal clark block and a reversed one.

here are the pictures of it:



Right is the threadsection and left the copperwire section







And now I turned it 180degrees and start with the copperwire

Here are some photos of Ruard showing me how he makes the wire core dubbing brushes. These photos were taken at the museum, during our recent flymph gathering.

Awesome photos. I have a large block, that I use for larger dubbing brushes...you can even use synthetics with it. I use small copper wire to twist it up. We use that for baitfish patterns. I haven't used it in ages though. I have been too busy tying these little flies.

I like the idea of adding a rod to the bottom of a dubbing block thus making it easier to work with. An alternative solution to clamping it to the table...
