Can it get any worse?

I find the definition of a flymph very interesting as it explains where I went wrong the other day when I posted my ‘Snipe & Spindrift soft hackle’. I can now see where JOANIEBO was coming from with his reference to a wire or thread underbody ‘showing through’. To me, in the UK, a flymph is a relative new expression used in the USA to refer to a hackled wet fly but with emphasis on hackle and body movement. I hadn’t taken into account the importance too of the underbody.
You guys will have to bear with me, a simple Lancastrian who has fished spiders most of his life. I am still getting used to the term ‘soft hackle ‘ and now ‘flymphs’

I post my patterns in the nymph section. By definition, I have never tied a Flymph.
