Not exactly a true Softhackle, but close enough 8-)

Thread: Benecchi 12/0, grey
Collar: Whiting Brahma hen barbs, mottled
Rib: Krystal Flash, opal - doubled to form a loop - smoky grey mink insterted, twisted
Rear thorax: Rabbit, dark grey
Wing: Snowshoe hare, natural
Front thorax: Rabbit, dark grey

It looks like soft hackle to me! LOVE IT! I am gonna have to try this one soon. :D

That is a beautiful pattern. I especially like using that Opal tinsel to form a loop. did you attempt to wax one, inside surface of the tinsel before adding the dubbing to the loop or just put in place a twist away, gently as to not snap the tinsel. Cool technique and nice use of the snoeshoe. I'll watch the video once I finish uninstalling a lot of software...currently screwing with my machine.

No wax.

You will soon find out how far you can twist. More turns than you perhaps imagine are possible.

Alternative is a single strand of flash, and a dubbed noodle or split thread dubbing, then twist dubbing and flash together.
