Pink squirrel w/ soft hackle?

Anyone ever try this? Caught a few nice trout this morning with my weighted flymph but landed more with a pink squirrel. Wondering how a soft hackled pink squirrel would do... I'm figuring I'd trim the pink chenille in half and tie a hackle behind it.

Nope, I haven't tried that one....... yet! No reason it should not work, may detract- may attract. Guess you are just going to have to try it and see.
Make sure you take a camera along and share the results though. :D
I must admit to taking a few popular nymph patterns from over here and adding a soft hackle, it didn't hurt any and I like to think it helped. I do the same with some dry patterns- loose the wings or parachute post and swap the stiff Cock hackle for soft Hen hackle. That seems to work as well.
I just finished tying some pink squirrel variations for CFR, used the strippings from the base of some pink dyed hackle for the collar. That may be easier than trying to wrap the chenille after your hackle?

The bream like the pink squirrel here. Not a bad fly to have on hand. Sometimes it get's their attention, when nothing else will.

Carl - I burst out laughing when I saw the photo. Hysterical...

Taylor - Don't mind us, we are just goofing around. I am interested in hearing how the pink squirrel soft hackle works. All part of the fun of trying something new.

Sorry Taylor didn't mean to distract too much from your post.

Your idea has merit. I have never fished the pink squirrel fly, had to look it up. I don't understand what you mean by cutting the chenille in half. Just using half the amount? I would think a nice pink dubbing at the head would be interesting to try.
