Hard to say which I like better—your flies or your video production and editing.
That opening transition from the finished fly to the bare hook was very effective.
Are you switching to generic hook descriptions instead of brand names in all your published recipes now?

Lance, I have not made a decision on this yet. For the moment, where the hook has a generic shape and can be found in most brands, I lean towards a generic description. Where the shape, or hook proportions, are more specific - so will be the description.

I am interested in your, and others, views what would be most appropriate?

That's an entirely reasonable approach. Hook manufacturers can and do change designations; using the generic description -- when appropriate -- ensures that in the future somebody can figure out which hook to use. It also means that tyers around the world don't have to track down hooks that might not be readily available in their area just to find out what the specifications are for that hook.

About the hook descriptions, generic is ok, as long as enough information is given.
Saying a hook is a 'medium scud hook' leaves a lot of room to wiggle around in.
Especially for those that are still new to tying flies the list of need to know
information such as colors, materials, threads, substitutions for materials now
banned the list is impressive. Having some sort of reference is kind of nice to have.
A lot of times I look at what you are kind enough to show us I look up and see if I have a
compatible hook or one that might substitute. No telling where I might wander without
some sort of direction ....... , ,

I love this fly. Simple, effective, killer.

Very nice.
I've watched enough of Hans' videos that I now hear his voice when I read the short description above the picture.
Anybody else do that?

I haven't tried any of the wire-bodied flies. I'll have to add them to my list.
