Great looking Hendrickson pattern. I give all my wets and flymphs a good dunk.
The real true colors of a wet pattern shows when submerged. Pun intended.

Rub some fish oil or salmon slime or moss on your soft hackles. Then test them. I am curious if your results would match mine.

That Hendrickson pattern looks deadly. I need to try some of these myself.
What leader material are you using in the video? That stuff is completely invisible. Good stuff.

But on that note... I bought several hen capes from a couple different hackle sellers. A couple of the hen capes were oily. So I ended up soaking in warm mild soapy water. Then rinsed and dried. The orange wet fly in the video is the cleaned feather on the left in the photo below.

I am always looking for soft hen hackle that have movement. I ended up buying a lot of generic hen capes, mainly from UK.

What's the best way to dry a cape? I have washed capes and skins before and set them out to dry only to have them get moldy.

I keep all my CDC ‘off cuts’ in a bag. It makes a great Feather dubbing.....
