I have never even thought about a Brown Drake spider. Great looking pattern and I plan to give this a lot of thought and tie some flies to try this year.
Living on the MANISTEE River makes it an easy test.
Thank you for making the creative juices flow.

John - Would you mind posting your Brown Drake Comparadun pattern too? I’d like to add both to my fishing arsenal. ;)

Beautiful spider.

John,
You are keeping the spider tradition alive with your unique looking pattern! I can see where you would not have to change flies as often with this one! You would have it covered from the gloaming until way after dark!

I like that English Red Grouse hackle. Would you please tell me where you bought that from because I'd like to tie some of these flies too.

The hackle colors are very nice. Well done on a great looking fly.

This is where most of us purchase our English game bird skins.. https://www.cookshill-flytying.co.uk/. I always check availability by emailing Steve at: cookshillft@aol.com

I think Competitive Angler has the Cookshill's English red grouse skin in stock here in the USA... https://competitiveangler.com/shop/body ... ect-grade/

John

Thank you very much. Cookshill's seems to be a popular business for this forum.
