Grey Hackle Yellow!
One day I will tell the story where I threatened to beat the hell out of Gary LaFontaine and his buddy over that pattern. In Butte Montana.

Uh, no. It hurts the feelings of idol worshipers.

Bill,
I like your flymph variation of the Gray Hackle Yellow. I have seen it tied in many versions. In THE FISHERMEN'S HANDBOOK OF TROUT FLIES , DU BOIS lists 11 different recipes.

Bill - Did you dye the dubbing on this fly? I've been meaning to try "onion dyed dubbing", but have not tried it yet. I really like the look of the yellow dubbing.

Ray,
I try to keep a white rabbit skin on hand from some Craft Store like JOANN for dyeing select dubbing colors and making Zonker strips. This dubbing was dyed with onion skins and fixed with white vinegar as a mordant.
Bob,

Not a bad imitation at all!!
Those should fish quite well!!
