Tenkara Flies by Misako Ishimura

Post by tie2fish » Sat Feb 18, 2012 8:03 am

NOTE: This post was edited in an effort to replace the photos that disappeared when Photobucket broke all my links. There were originally four flies tied by Misako, but I can only locate one of them in my files. Sorry about that ...

Here is a lovely fly tied in the tenkara style and photographed by Mark Romero's talented wife Misako Ishimura ...

Misa is astounding. And her meticulous tenkara-style flies are a refreshing addition to the forum. If she decides to register and participate, I'll be watching eagerly for any of her posts.

Wow, those flies are just SUPREME. I hope Misa does join here. I need to pick up that book one day. But I want her to sign my copy... ;) Will she be selling them at the Sowbug? Misa just oozes talent. She is incredibly gifted in so many areas. I hold her in high regards, that's for sure. :D

Beautiful. I especially like the detail and thoughtful creativity that is noticeable in each one. Misa would be a greatly welcomed addition to the forum.

I little story for everyone, I originally met Mark on another site and then him and Misa in person at a fly tying show all the way over here in Oregon, where we were all tying. I am usually a bit standoffish (just my personality). The morning following the show I was getting breakfast at the hotel before a long drive home, looking for a place to sit in a crowded room of others doing the same. Mark and Misa graciously invited me to join them. I had a wonderful breakfast with two people who are some of the friendliest, giving, enjoyable people around and who you can see immediately, have a love and commitment for each other that is very special and increasingly hard to find this day and age.

Always my best to both of you.
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.
