I really like this fly!

Beautiful.
I struggle to find plain JC "eyes" let alone ones dyed in such a fashion.

Hans - I have come back to look at this on my computer monitor (initially I viewed it from the small screen of my iPod). Now that I look at the fly on a larger monitor, another detail catches my attention. Did you wind the base of the jungle cock feather as a forward hackle? The effect is beautiful. Such a striking fly. The jungle cock nails are a lovely touch.

No JC winding. What you see are the lower barbs on the nail radiating out.

The fly is very beautiful. Congrats!
-Beyond sheer beauty, I'm more interested in how the pattern evolved as a fish-taker.
Are you fishing it in a specific water type? (lake, pond, slow moving/fast moving stream). What species do you find that has been most attracted to your pattern? Do you fish it primarily for trout?
