Re: Molten Twist 1250
I used your technique with Amnesia. I have never fished a drowned Yellow Sally adult, but by golly, I think I have a pattern for one.

Wayne - Oh man, that is such a cool pattern! This technique lends itself to small flies. Beautiful yellow sally nymph, with a "come hither" hot-spot.
These flies have given me another idea. I think you could also make a hot spot with a small loop of the Amnesia line. The loop would serve as a hot-spot, as well as a tye-off point for other flies fished in tandem. Worth a try anyways...
William - Great photographic tutorial. I have added a link to this post in our reference section, under SBS tutorials. Excellent addition!

Re: Molten Twist 1250 (Tutorial / SBS Instructions)
Thanks everyone. Its something I hadn't seen before either, so im probably the 50 th person to think of it.
One thing I particularly like about the fly line backing is the braided portion. Just a hint, then transformed. I'll be curious to see if it makes for an effective pattern. I'll be glad to hear some reports once these are sent out.
Wayne, that's a cool pattern. No doubt one of the most visible patterns in your box. Great pic too. I'm not sure what Amnesia is...or I just have forgotten
but it looks great. Different colors would make for some interesting attractors.
Ray I tried the loop too, but with the fly line backing I didn't like having the material tied in twice. Too much bulk, but the other product might just work.Especially on larger patterns. Post a pic when you get it tied up.
Thanks for the link. SBS text tba.

William, sometimes I forget that not everyone sets up their fishing systems the same way I do...Sorry about that.
Amnesia is a memeory free (not totally) monofilament that I use to attatch my leader to my fly line. I can switch out leaders very quickly and never have to cut into my fly line.

I use a nail knot covered in UV resin to connect Amnesia to flyline

I use a loop to loop connection for Amnesia to leader

Amnesia comes in Red and FL. Green....It also works pretty well as an indicator when Czech Nymphing

Wayne, that's a cool material. I haven't seen it around but I'll keep my eyes open.
The SBS has been updated. Hank...hope you enjoy it. Thank you for the prompting. I do appreciate it.

Dub-ya, Howdy;
I'm impressed !
The words help a bunch towards a better understanding...
They convey the nuances that the photos can't show, like what's on the other side
of the hook.
Thanks young Bud,
hank

This is a great technique for hot-spots. I have a spool of fluo red monofilament (20lb),
it should be ideal, I'll have to add this to my many (too many) projects 'in hand'.

Re: Molten Twist 1250 (Tutorial / SBS Instructions)
I have discovered that I had Non Fluorescent Red Mono, ah weel, I hope the
Sunset is Fluorescent because I have ordered some.
By the way William, what was the make of backing you used
I shall have to stop using the abbreviation 'fluo', it gets confused between
Fluorescent and Fluocarbon.
