I have not completed it yet, only the first nymph tied
so far. I thought the recipes of the others would be of interest until
I complete the job.

Nice exhibit as usual!
IMO since this is the flymph forum and these are the originals out of the "bible" it could only offend those on this site who don't yet understand fishing the stiffer feathers in faster waters.
Looking forwarsd to seeing the rest.

This is a fly that does very well for me on my small spate river. Started off as GRHE, then dressed it as a dry with a cock furnace hackle, then one time accidentally (badly) dressed it with short cock hackle, and seemed to do well, so kept with that, made the abdomen really sparse and seemed to catch better and better, the more straggly - and shorter hackled it became. (bit long in this example, if anything).
Dont know what they are taking it for, but when olives are on the water, does very well in 14 and 16.
I touch the sides of the flies with a bit of floatant, and I used to think i was fishing dry, but nowadays I don't think I am, suspect it is fishing nymph /emerger, if not mostly just under. Does catch though.

Hi Donald,
No offenses from my point of view. Varying the hackle stiffness to the water type is quite appropriate. These are wingless wets, nonetheless. Leisenring understood the importance of the hackles not collapsing completely in the current. In order to make a swift water wet fly work stiffer hackles were, and are still, appropriate. This why I do not particularly like the term "soft-hackle" but like the term "wingless wet" much more.
