Jungle Cock and Mole

Post by Ruard » Thu Nov 25, 2010 4:12 pm

I tried the split-thread method with Mole and with the Feathers of the Jungle Cock that André Had given to me.

Hook: Hayabusha 390 #14
Thread: orange Danvilles
Body: Mole Grey, Mole Olive (85%) and mole Claret (15%), Mole Claret (85%) and mole Olive(85%)
Hackle: Jungle Cock (saddle?)

Hi Ruard.....wonderful flies you tyed there.....just really cool. That little tiny bit of thread showin' in the rear end of the fly on top.....(the first one), is something i do on purpose very often. To leave just a "spot" of the color showing is a trickering device very often....and it looks cool to me.
i use those feathers off a JC neck a LOT! They can make great streamer wings.....collars (wraped or other wise), tails, cheeks, veilings, and can be tyed in as droupings......like when you tye the nails in "drouping".....downward. Keep postin' pics Bro. We love it. ;) My favorite of the three body color wise, is the last (bottom) one. ;)

Very nice Ruard. I like the colour in the second one, but the first has a better body structure--looser perhaps? Great tyes in any case.

All beautiful flies, but I would expect nothing less. The bottom fly is my favorite. Great color blend. Now where did I hide my mole skins?...

Excellent blend of materials not often used together. And, as usual, superbly tied.

Ruard, that type of body is just spot on. I really like the mixes you've put together. Nice shape and very lively.
