Leisenring March Brown Nymph

Post by DNicolson » Thu Apr 07, 2011 10:27 am

This was the third serious fly I dressed, the other two were Zonkers.
Hook: Size 12 nymph hook.
Silk: Hot orange. Pearsall.
Tail: Three Pheasant tail fibres, short.
Rib: Fine gold wire.
Body: 3-4 fibres reddish pheasant tail.
Thorax: Hares ear.
Hackle: Partridge, small short dark.

It could be worse I suppose, I'll need better magnification
than my reading glasses. I was really toiling and slow.

'Tis a thing of beauty, Donald. It is a pleasure to see your dressings being posted once more.

Be patient, Donald. It'll all come back to you. I have to wear different glasses when tying other than my trifocals. I purchased a pair of magnifying readers. They work great. I use them for close-up artwork as well. The other two spiders look as if you are getting your touch back!

Donald,

Well done, my friend. After my cataract surgery, I'm lost without my magnifier for tying flies. I did have a really good pair of magnifying reading glasses, but the came up missing after tying at an Expo. If I can find another pair like them, I'll snatch them up in a second.
