Body: tying thread yellow
Thorax: hare dubbing from the pelt
Hackle: from the body, under the wing, of a female duck
After reading the book Fly-Tying with Harold Howorth by D.C.Townsend I tie most of my wingless wets with a thorax.
Peute is a French word for: mean and ugly woman. I tied this fly to fish the river Dee in Wales. There is a pretty story about this fly: Henri Bresson got this fly from a gypsy. If you want to read the whole story, I found it in French Fishing Flies by Jean Paul Pequegnot.
