Beautiful fly. I tie some with dyed tail feathers to produce different colors. And some with the feathers hanging off the back as tails. They are all great fish catching patterns.

Pheasant tail soft hackles and nymphs are probably my most fished trout fly dressings. I tie the soft hackles with and without tails but in the past few years, I seem to be favoring those with tails. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Excellent looking fly. I have found that any Pheasant Tail pattern is a fly to have in your box. Pheasant Tail flies just produce fish anywhere at any time. Tails or not.
