I found this fly on my desk this past weekend, hidden among debris in my travel tying kit. I believe the fly was tyed by Bill Shuck, but can't be 100% sure. Anyway, I carefully studied the fly and believe the recipe above is accurate.

Beautiful little fly, isn't it? Lovely color scheme.

Ray what a find.
Luckily it didn't get tossed out by accident.

It does look like a Shuck tie.

Ray,
It has the pedigree and "the look" of a Shuck original! I say this while studying the head of the fly! It is a classic Bill big build up taper! He used to tease me about how small the heads were on my patterns! I miss him everyday!
I think you have a winner here friend! Please go thru your garbage and look for other treasures....if it's not too late!
Love ya to pieces Ray, all of us!

Definitely looks like one of Bill’s, POSSIBLY from when I was showing him how to do scotch tie hackle. It was when we fished the beaverkill together, and someone took our picture of all of us with our backs turned to the camera at Cairns‘s pool.
