Here's one from just the day before yesterday.....Hooks is a Jens Pilgaard Spey.....another example of a fly i did with no need for a rib. i only have bout a handfull of these types of beads left......so i don't use them to often........they are so beautiful. That's Whiting Spey Hackle i used for the collar.....stuff is bitch to wrap......you just have to go slower and really use your bodkin constantly to keep things under control, but it's actualy fun. i reccommend a VERY fine tipped bodkin. :D
gotta get......i'm demoing Shane Stalcup's Extended Body Leech at our NAFF meeting tonight..... ;)

Very nice Mark. That second one is very patriotic and the first one WOWSER! That is a stunner. Everything just works so beautifully together. I really love the feather you used for the wing. The markings are incredible and the colour is one I haven't seen yet in tying materials (at least around here). It amazes me the variety of feathers you must have.

Bill, got your PM.....thankx. But just so you know.....there is NOTHING patriotic involved with that tye. The name of the fly has nothing to do with history, etc. It's just what popped into my head, as i was counting the different aspects of the tye.....1. tag 2. tail 3. bead 4. body 5. wing 6. collar 7. head
i don't believe in patriatisum, unless your refering to all mankind & cultures.......i'm loyal to the planet and the race.....human race. "Countires" is out dated/ancient mentality........it's b.s. that doesn't work and never has......HELLO! NOBODY devides and conquers me.........thank you very much. ;)

i did this bout a month or so ago.......since i last got back........ :) When i tye in the streamer style.......i like to do heads in that/this style. Course this pertains to when using this style blind eye hook. If i use eyed streamer hooks.....i go for a more traditional look/style. The wing is all from various places off a Cree skin i have. There's dubbing running the entire length of the shank under the beads.....for snugness ;) .....same stuff for the thorax area. Course baitfish don't have thoraxes..... .....as always, click the pic for best viewing..... 8-)

Sorry Mark, didn't mean to insinuate you were patriotic. ;)

I really like the latest. Sleek and just like a really good piece of jewelry.
