video - softhackle - flat and corded

Another technique I have found both useful and plain neat B)

Use a flat material for the abdomen, and then cord it for the rib.

May I recommend playing it in 720p if your connection speed allows?

Here is a close-up of the fly tied in the video

Indeed! I love the minimalist approach. And using this style of hook really gives SHs a fresh and enticingly cool look.

Hans, Howdy;

Thanks for the video...
What I appericate the most is the visual aid
to see the techniques for doing these things.
eg. I wouldn't have thought to wrap the material
around the pliers before clamping the pliers.... :)

*chuckle*

I did not start out doing it that way, initially I just clipped on the pliers, and suffered the defeat of material slipping at the worst of moments - one lives and learns, or one does not live, eh tie long... 8-)

Never really thought of twisting tinsel that much to make a rib out of it. Good thing you did!
Stunning work, thanks Hans. 8-)
