Anyone know these hooks?

Post by Old Hat » Fri Mar 23, 2012 4:39 pm

I had a very generous person I met at a show send me some Czech or Polish (I believe) hooks. I know nothing about them and was wondering if anyone here might be able to shed some light on them. There were a couple styles

This is what the package reads. It is a clear vinyl bag with a green label.

IGLA
České Budĕjovice
Háčky Mokré 800/č14
JK POV 744 571 0748 71
20ks

then the lower section of the bag has a green label with a picture of a winged fly and the word

"akca" or "akra"
I hate it when I think I'm buying organic vegetables, and when I get home I discover they are just regular donuts.

No takers? :D

There are some serious limerick bends in these along with some very nice bends with slightly turned up points.

Ask and you shall receive. ;) They appear handmade and my guess is they older, maybe not available anymore.

Oh man, am I ever drooling over the hook just below the dime! That is one pretty hook, at least to my eyes. Very cool.

They are neat. The 3 below the dime are the same hook, different sizes I believe. A 10,12 and a 14. There is a little bit of variation between hooks but foundationally the same. This is what leads me to believe that they are handmade.

I agree. The hooks below the dime are the same, just different sizes. I like the top of those 3 because I can see it better....lol.
