Superb. What a great color combination. Love the copper tinsel tag, and the segmentation of the biots.

Wayne, your pattern is striking with the copper tag against that rich mahogany boot. Beautiful combination.

I do like the looks of biots on my patterns. I stopped using them years ago as I found them delicate, and easily broken by a trouts teeth. A small amount of super glue applied to the thread base cured that for me.

Not only a very nice looking fly- but I love the look of that hook.
Not sure we get those here, I will have to enquire. Looks to be very strong and heavy enough to sink like a stone- the perfect NZ hook.

Biots are great fly bodies or abdomens. Colour, segmentation, rib..... dare I say gills, all built into the one material. Tie it in, wrap it up, tie it off and the fly is practically done.

I do recommend wrapping over some kind of adhesive to make them last a bit longer under multiple trout teeth scrutiny- just as you have discovered with the super glue.

The C67S Mustad has become one of if not my favorite hook over the past 5 years. This hook really is stout. I know I have bent a few 14's, but I can not recall bending anything larger. If you get a chance, do get some. I use the hook for eggs, caddis, and in large sizes stone nymphs. Short, stout, and sinks like a rock. That adds up to being a winner in my book!

As everyone has said, what a great combination of materials, colors, and workmanship! This pattern is so incredibly fishable! I know it would be well accepted by my tribe below the foam!
