Nice, as usual. Another idea of yours that I'm going to have to copy.

Did you really tie in the materials in the order given (antennae before body)?

Yes. I found it easier to tye in the antenna right after tying in the hackle. They both were tyed in facing out over the eye of the hook. I then tyed in the chenille abdomen and ran the thread back to the eye of the hook. Dub the thread and wound it back to the bend of the hook, forward to the eye. Then I pulled the antenna over the back of the fly. Secure with two wraps of thread. Wrap the hackle. Form head and whip finish.

I tyed a few versions with the antenna added at the end, but I did not like the looks as much. I was able to reduce the size of the head by tying in the turkey fibers early in the construction of the fly (the tying in point is hidden under the hackle).

Yeah, clearly that would reduce the head size, but I would have thought it would interfere with wrapping the hackle. I guess I'll experiment (or possibly just leave the antennae out -- they get lost a bit in the hackle anyway.)

I may also have to tie some with green chenille.

Cool pattern Ray, I would tie those with a green extension too. Nicely done!
