That hatch looks 14 times better than the original (single) fly! :D

(I may have miss counted the number of flies in the pile).

They ALL look wonderful.

I think there are sixteen..
The batch are tied with the hackle wrapped very densely and wrapped through with thread
every one of the batch is tied better than that single - which is pretty primitive,
sparse, almost double hackled by virtue of the thread wraps.
The single is a reject really :oops:

My tying doesn't involve rejects anymore. ;)

When I set down to tie especially after a long spell away from the vise I may make a few that don't quite live up to standard until I get back into the tying groove. I now have "Sacrificial flies" that go into my box at the end of the row. These are the first out of the box after I break off in a difficult lie or try that cross stream cast into the edge of a sweeping log jam. I figure many times if you aren't losing a few flies you really aren't fishing.
