Thanks for the additional comments, gentlemen--have to agree with Dougsden about peacock being a "magic" material; nice to know there's a lot of different ways to skin a cat. :) Otherwise, I think Carl and Chris's point about using high-grade herl is well-taken, too--hopefully my local flyshop and I can come to an understanding regarding my materials fondling. (BTW, I'm glad Chris is flying the "Tenkara flag"...great looking fly.)
