Disclaimer - William got me thinking. When I posted the Estaz Stone, I was in the "One Fly Contest" they have each year state of mind. This is not the fly I would choose just to have an enjoyable day on the water fly fishing. This is a "go get'um pattern".

Carl,
Impossible, I never leave to have an enjoyable day on the water with just one fly.

Maybe a dozen of the same fly.

Mark, your fly is cool, Im gonna have to try that. Oh, and what is wrong with the Bee Gees? I used to love their music, and yes, before Saturday Night Fever. I think I was 12 when I bought an album from them...1972 or so.

Here we go.....(and you all know what's coming)
Tan Flymph on one of two choices for hooks. I know, you wanted one hook type or brand. I'm still thinkin".
TMC #9300 size 14
Mustad # 94842 size 14 (or the newer R50U).......
The winner is.....Tan Flymph on Mustad #94842 size 14.
That was a tough one. I like the #9300 alot because of the wider hook gap (or gape?) and it's extreme sharpness compared to the Mustad. But, in honor of Pete Hidy, I go up eye because the pattern just looks cool dressed on these classic irons!
How did I do Otto?

Dogsled,
I like the thought process behind your choice and your final answer was very traditional, so who can complain. Well, I am sure someone could but that is life. Otto

Hi guys, new to the board, but have really enjoyed it so far. I don't make much fuss over the hooks personally, but as for a fly, it would be Ellis Emerging Pupa.
http://www.stoneriveroutfitters.com/bro ... 4,455.html. I love everything about it, especially in a size 14 or 16. The stripped hero body, peackock thorax, etc. Deadly, a glass bead doesn't hurt it either, with clear lined with silver or black.
