Jeff, I understand what you are saying. If it is several generations wild, then I can see it. (I still can't use it) I don't know what my cats would do, if I had a hide of cat in here. LOLLLLLLLLLL. I can comb out my daughter's cat in one sitting, and have more dubbing than I could use in some time. I could get more that way, than snipping any day of the week. (less dangerous too) The wild cat has some tinged hairs that are beautiful. She has stripes, marble, and spots. (yes, all on the same cat) I will have to take some photos of her soon. I have pics of her when she was a kitten. Time flies. She is now 3. No way I would have enough bravery to come at her with scissors to get a couple of snips. She would make mince meat out of my arms, I truly believe that. Now maybe if she was asleep....hmmm.

Howdy All;
Having had to 'deal with' a clowder or 2 of feral cats in the past
I can only ask that you who may find it frightful that dealing with
Miss Kitty to be harsh read the following (yea, I know it's Wiki, however
there are citations.

Objective prospective needs to be applied in all cases of these types of
animal control.

We've had a cat for a pet for the last 16 years. In all that time the cat has never tried to suck up to me or befriend me in anyway. The best I could count on from the cat was the rare dead rat and that was at the previous house. Now the best I can count on from her is some mewing when she wants to be fed. If I didn't have thumbs to open the food cans I don't think she'd have anything to do with me. We've had two dogs and they appear to be masters of the "suck up" as they can't seem to be close enough at times. Ever see a 50 lb "lap" labrador puppy?
Until Miss Kitty learns the ways of the dog........

William Anderson wrote:You're killing kittens for dubbing material? Shame on you...they make much better zonkers. (running and ducking as Hans puts it).

Yes, kitten...... the shorter staple would make excellent zonker strips.

, but as you know, this particular one was a well matured adult cat and perhaps too long in the staple for zonkers (especially as cat fur is not hydrophobic and it collapses emphatically when wet), however it makes a great looking hair extension I believe- for the folically challenged?

I've made great nymphs with the underfur of my cat and caught quite a few trout on them. It makes beautiful dubbing material
So will any type of Soft Hackle fly do from me with any material I have?
