Re: Steelhead/Salmon Flymphs..... ;>)

Call it what you will, tied from memory...... from what I can remember of a picture seen somewhere. We do not have a lot of Salmon here and I have not seen anyone target them with fly gear, so I am kind of "winging it" here! The materials will not be the same as the original, not everyone ...

Re: Steelhead/Salmon Flymphs..... ;>)

Ray, they may not be the true wingless wets we are meant to be concentrating on, but they are very nice bent backs. Mark, keep tying to keep you mind off the poking & prodding and I hope all goes well for you. Carl, the bodes of built wing or made wing salmon flies I seem to be able to turn out ...

Re: Beginner's flymph

Ironblue,
Looks to be the perfect kind of "drab" to suit our brown trout. They don't get over excited by flash colours or synthetics like rainbow will.
Nice tie, thanks for sharing it.

This is kind of what I was thinking of, many here could do it better..... but it gives the idea.

Neat tie Kelly L!

Nice hot-spot and fine choice of colours & materials, lets see the trout ignore that.

Re: Steelhead/Salmon Flymphs..... ;>)

Back in the day, when folk figured it was easier to tie hair-wing salmon flies than made-wing versions, the colours of the feather made-wing were generally mimicked with the colour of the hair. My question is...... Would it ...

Re: Kenspeckle Grouse & Green

Really cool fly and excellent photography.

Wher do I find more info on the dubbing making pebbles and jar method?
Will a search of the forum lead to results?
