Re: Gone fishing

All three flies are beautiful, but the first one just rocks my boat. Recipe please. I really like the hook on the last two as well. What is it? Again, beautiful dressings on all three.

Re: Yarn & Woodcock Flymph

I like the look of the hook a lot. For some reason my eyeballs and brain would not connect when I read the recipe. I kept missing the "brush" part of the desription. I understood the pink yarn palmered up the shank, but what was the ribbing? Got it now, finally. Great color combination. As...

I like the look and the idea. I'll have to give that a try.

Re: Saturday Night

Both are fine dressings, but that one on the Grip hook just screams at me to be tied on a tippet. Both have the subtle coloring of live insects and look like they's have a lot of animation in the water from that fine hackle. I know some places that I'd fish those and I know I'd get some hits. Well d...

Re: Floating in the Fall

Dubbn, You get up this way in late September or October and I'll see to it you get at least one type of Sea Run Trout. We usually fish for the SR Cutthroat with a 6 weight rod because the possibility of hooking up with a winter run steelhead is so high. Feeling the tug of a steelhead can be quite ex...

Re: Floating in the Fall

Those are some nice looking fish. Fall fishing is the best!! No two ways about it. My favorite fish, Sea Run Cutthroat, make their way into our local rivers from the salt. They are a superb fish, and just beautiful.

Re: hemp&snipe caddis.

I like both versions a lot. Great looking bodies, very caddis like. I too, wonder about how they behave when wet. May have to tie up a couple and find out.

Re: Charlie Brown (good grief)

Wow! Ray, I gotta issue you a challenge more often. It may have been a PITA, but it's a brilliant fly. Well done my friend. As relaxing and focusing as tying is, I can get lost in a casting stroke. Sometimes I'll just stand in the backyard and cast, or even just keep the line in the air, doing what ...
