Sowbug Softy Shrimp Pink

I know, it isn't much of a sowbug color. This is more of a searching pattern. I have caught fish with this color scheme in a nymph though (haven't fished this exact pattern yet). Pink works great on one particular river I fish, this can be used as a scud pattern too. This one actually has me a bit e...

Re: Sowbug Softy Dead Orange

Thanks guys. I have actually seen sowbugs this color in some of the rivers I have fished. I haven't fished this particular color yet, but I bet it will hook into a few fish. It will also double as a scud pattern.

Re: Sowbug Softy Dark Olive

Gorgeous flies, Scott! I need to make room for some of these in my box as well. Killer dressing. Hey, are you a southpaw (lefty)? Nope, I just take my photos opposite of where I tie or sit so it looks like that. I have the background to my images pinned to the back of my chair, so I just turn it ar...

Prob not unless the hackle falls off. I do just as good with them like this or picked out, so I won't do the extra work ;)

Re: Kenspeckle Grouse & Green

Killer pattern. I may have to tie some of those myself. Would be great in the high country fly once the ice and snow melts. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Sowbug Softy - Natural Color

Nice fly! Does the wire spine affect how it rides in the water? That's a good question and one I will have to look at. I usually just fish it like I would any regular nymph. When a sowbug is free in the water, they are at the mercy of the current and are thrown every which way. So I am not sure it ...
