Re: Groused Peacock - White & Green

Thanks Ron.

Vicki - Your question sent me back to my vice and I ended up tying a slightly different fly. See my White Silk & Silver fly. I love the look of the silver rib over the white silk. Thanks for the well placed question. :D

Re: Groused Peacock - White & Green

In this case I just wrapped it over the top of the tying thread. It won't be very durable, as is. I intended to counter wrap the tying thread over the top of the herl, but it broke off during my first wrap. The albino peacock herl is very delicate. For a fishing fly, I would recommend counter wrappi...

Re: Coq de Leon and Olive 1550

William - If it is the true olive Gossamer, then the number is 16. I have a color chart that lists a few different shades (Olive = 16; Green = 18; Light Olive = 20). Unfortunately the chart does not have pictures of the silk for comparison. I think yours is No. 16, but I am not positive... WOW! That...

Re: Gold Hare and Hen

William - The double rib is brilliant! Have you done any variations with two different colors of wire? I think a dark/light combination would look attractive as well.

Superbly tyed, by the way. It would be impossible to hide any defects with such crisp photography. You set the bar VERY high.

Re: Presentation Flies

I believe their attention to detail is directly proportional to their love of tying and fishing. I see that same passion displayed in the flies posted on this forum.
