Re: GRHE, GR possum FB and a bunch of PT's

Oh horror! Back to the vice and tie some flies that are at least decent. Seems as if you are partial to the anorectic style. Nothing wrong with that. Every tier is free to choose his/her style. Re: caddis fleas...

Karsten, you recognize a good fly when you see it and are able to reproduce it to your liking. Very well done. I am at loss for any negative things to say. Damn you!

Re: Black Spider

I find Roger Foggs book A Handbook of North Country Flies to be a wealth of Info..In fact he lists on PG. 171 that a James Baille spider dressings gained fame through Stewarts The Practical Angler .This dressing calls for Brown silk thread, and a glossy purple black or green black feather from the ...

Re: G E M Skues posting on Flymph Forum.

Gunnar was recommended to tie the Elk Hair Caddis before his trip to meet up with Pete Hidy. He made a Flugbindarbrev on the EHC since he was successful with it. I have one of these with an EHC tied by him. I would like to have what John S. has too. All of it  .

Re: G E M Skues posting on Flymph Forum.

Gunnar Johnson, inspired by Pete Hidy, issued a series of Flugbindarbrev, Fly Tying Letters. I have a couple of them but not this one. https://www.worldcat.org/title/gem-skues-den-konservative-rebel/oclc/60353052 120 copies of this one. Re: Been a while, photo intensive open at own risk ;)

Hi Karsten, Life without Bill isn't the same. Visiting the forum isn't the same either, due to our loss. Don't take this wrong now, but he was a source of wit and inspiration that is lacking very much in my life now. We all have a lot of friends here, but he was very special. Your flies are Shuckish...

Daringduffer - I solved the mystery a few months back. Mustad 98463 Barbless. I found more at an estate sale at a show down to #16.
Good on you, Carl, on both accounts. I will have to look for that hook...
