I'm curious as to the leader being attached to the top of the hook shank. Standard for the era? Or just tyer's preference?

That really turned out looking very nice. Very buggy and a fish catcher for sure. Is the pt wrapped through the ostrich in the abdomen? There is some really cool effects going on there.
