Re: Tools?

Yes, Mike, the problem I find now is that things are scattered over multiple threads.

If, for example, I want to see what people have posted about vises, a post may be anywhere.

Re: Tools?

In reading through various sections, the thought has o occurred to me, several times, that a new section called “Tools of the Trade” would be useful.

It could have subsections for vises, bobbins, scissors, etc.

The following announcement is from Facebook. The original text is as follows: Derek Grieve I posted this about a year ago and haven’t gotten around to it. I’m a furrier in alaska and have a ton of scraps. 3 trash bags and a tote full. I’m going to dump it all out and shuffle it up really good and wi...

Re: Head Cement; I need a New Source

After looking around a bit, I found the Windsor Newton varnish is about $3 cheaper than at the art stores.

That Wapsi applicator looks neat, but not at the $9.49 Bass Pro Shop wants, or the $8.50 from Orvis.

Flymasters.com sells it for $1.99.

Any comments from a user?

Re: More stuff

Look in the art section for Windsor Newton Varnish. That’s your head “cement”.

Check Datus Proper.

Re: Availability of Spider Materials Today

Make friends with your local dog trainer. Young dogs catch birds occasionally during training sessions and birds are often shot when breaking dogs to retrieve. Attend a local field trial and help out. Offer to buy leftover birds. Quail, chukar. and even pheasant can be obtained. Always ask the pros ...

Re: Starling source...

I think in the past the three sources I've used are 1) Great Feathers, 2) Blue Ribbon and 3) back yard. Last I bought was from Great Feathers and it was a good skin. Great Feathers is a great shop and the owner,Mike Watriss,is great guy. I’ve been heard saying that if Mike sold burgers and beer the...
