Lindgren's Olive Nymph

Hooks - MUS3906B, TMC3761 or DAI 1560 or equivalent, sizes 10-18
Thread - Black
Tail - Black hen hackle barbs
Ribbing - Fine gold wire
Abdomen - Dubbed with olive marabou
Thorax - Peacock herl
Legs - Black hen hackle tied on as a collar and trimmed off on top and bottom

Beautiful fly as always.

It says the abdomen is dubbed with olive marabou. Forgive my ignorance, but does that mean you took some fluff of a feather and put it in a dubbing loop? Does it still retain a little of its lifelike motion when dubbed?

It looks like the marabou feather is tyed in by the tip and wrapped forward (palmered) forming the taper naturally.

I could be wrong. Just my best guess, based on the shape of the abdomen.

That was my thought too, Ray. That would give it a nice taper as you mentioned.

yes i tied the marabou in by the tip and wrapped it forward
