It kind of sounds like the idea that trout lose the ability to see UV when becoming adults is a fantasy. No matter what studies say.

DUBBN,

Fluorescent colors are light visible to the eye emitted when UV is absorbed by something. You don't have to see UV to see those bright colors.

I am pretty sure those studies say otherwise about adult trout

I've been following this conversation to see if I missed some of the hype over the years.
I agree that in murky waters fluorecsent and UV does make a difference in certain conditions.
In gin clear waters, I'm not so sure. To me, it depends on light conditions, refraction, turbidity.
I also think that fish key on reflective emergers but shy away when a hatch is not in progress.
