And another Darter style nymph using the Double Magic technique on the body. This time grey peacock wing quill with chartreuse green touch dubbing. Muskrat thorax with a natural grey - brown CDC hackle. Grey thread for the tying but a black head.

I’m not familiar with the term Darter or Double Magic technique. I need to do some research. Thanks for sharing something new (to me at least).

The proportions are very interesting and insect like. Neat.

The Darter is just a term I use for a mid sized swimming mayfly nymph down here. They are very active and dart here and there, hence the name. I’m not the first to use it - a noted NZ fisherman by the name of Norm Marsh had a wee nymph he called a Grey Darter he used to imitate swimming nymphs..
