I wont be able to for a couple weeks. Dang it, I have to work out of town for a couple weeks.

When I get back I need to call or correspond with you. Turns out the Colorado River not 3 minutes from my house has a large population of Smallmouth. I need some pointers and tips from you. I will be floating in my raft for them.

Wayne - Feel free to call. Bass are easy. They love streamers, leeches, baitfish patterns and large nymphs. Heck, they will even eat soft hackles. My kinda fish. :D

An update. Literally in less than 24 hours of this post, the Colorado fish and game shocked the section of the Colorado with the Smallies in it.

Then all the silt and ash from last years fires was swept in to the river, 80 miles upsteam of me.

Lots of dead fish.

Well said Ray (above)! Smallmouth are a joy and yes, easy most of the time but, can be a bit tough! I love the way they ambush streamers! A violent affair for sure but the rewards are worth it!
Wayne, glad to hear that you have them so close at hand! This should be quite the adventure!
Please keep us posted with lots of pictures!
