Dave's Shrimp

Dave Whitlock Fly Pattern

Hook - Mustad 3906, 3906B or equivalent, size 8-14
Weight - Lead/lead free wire
Thread - Olive
Tail - Barred wood duck flank feather fibers or teal
Body - Mixed olive, amber, gray fur dubbing
Throat - Barred wood duck flank feather fibers or teal
Head - Tying thread

Bend the hook with needle nose pliers up about one-quarter length behind the eye as shown above.
The eye should be approximately parallel with the hook shank.

I like how the bent shank gives the pattern an active "swimmy" profile. Very nice.
