Found this pattern in The Vade -Mecum of Fly Fishing for Trout by G.P. R. Pulman published in 1851. I'm finding this to be a great little book.
The pattern called for Brown sable for dubbing. I cannot find my piece! I subbed Lt. Fox dyed in willow bark. Should be good for March Brown's.
Hook. Partridge Grey Shadow emerger GRST size 12.
Silk. Pearsalls gossamer Sherry Spinner #6b.
Wing. Woodcock folded and split.
Tail. Brown hen.
Body. See above.
Rib. Gold wire.
Legs. Brown hen.
